Activities on the camping
Fishing
The Dalälven river is a paradise for fishers and for nature lovers. The river is about 500 km and flows from the Norwegian border through Sweden and flows out in the Gulf of Bothnia. Falkudden is situated in Nedre Dalälven and this is known as one of the ten best fishing area’s of Sweden You can find over 30 species of fishes and some of them are pikeperch, bream, trout, pike, grayling and perch.
At the camping you can rent fishingmaterial and a fishingboat with motor.
Canoeing
From the campsite you can make a two-days canoe trip on the river Årängsån and an overnight cano trip to Tyttbo and even to Färnebofjärdens national park. You can find a very good map on: Årängsån och Näs-Tyttbo
Canoes and boats
The best way to discover the beautiful surroundings of Falkudden camping and the Nedre Dalälven is by boat or canoe. Go to one of the unspoilt islands for a picnic or a hike. You can rent a boat (with or without outboard motor) or a canoe at our camping site.
Tennis court
This is located 500 meters from our camping. You can make reservations at the reception.
Cykeluthyrning
The surrounding of Näs is wunderfull to take a cyckling tour. On the camping you can hyre a bike for small and large groups. We also have child seats or a childwagon.
Activities in the surrounding
Sala silvermijn
Sala Silvermine is one of the world’s best preserved mine settings. Here the visitor encounters dark winding galleries, vast caverns and magic lakes. More information: http://www.salasilvergruva.se
Hiking tours
In the surroundings of Falkudden you can make beautiful hikes in open fields or woods.
There are also beautiful routes in the national park “Färnebofjärden”. This wonderful
piece of nature offers you different routes. Ask at the reception what the possibilities are or

- Husbyring, a cardrive of 60 km long with culturestops in the nature. A museum without walls of the highest quality.

Places of interest
Falkudden camping is in between three big cities: Borlänge, Västerås and Uppsala; they are all at more or less 90 km distance. Uppsala is beautifull city with many sights on walking distance. Within 20 km you can visit the small and nice town of Avesta. Avesta offers you everything you need. At 45 km there is the oldest city of Dalarna: Hedemora. This town got it’s cityrights in 1495. Stockholm is about 150 km away, it is a city that offers you a variety of nice buildings, nature and water.

Friday 24/6
Hembygdsgården (1200 m from the camping) with musik, folks dance and childactivities. Maypole rises.
Saturday 25/6
Family dag at Näs Idrotts Plats (500 m from the camping), with performances, ponyriding, airpillow, face painting and more. Children's Entertainment with the famous Nina and Mark.
By Slånkvicku
A week of culture and nature for adults and childeren. At the end of the week there is a Rat Fink Reunion, a carshow with oldtimers. This takes place at 500 meters of the camping. Also on the camping are a activities during the whole week. Come and experience this every year in week 30.
